Sarah Nicholson is business development manager at Revmo, a full-service agency supporting the growth of Amazon sellers.
How would you describe your job to someone who doesn’t work in retail? In my role, I’m responsible for researching and initiating contacts with brands that have the potential to succeed and grow on Amazon, but may not have the tools or expertise to do so. At Revmo, we are a team of Amazon experts who are committed to driving brands forward and expediting their business growth.
One thing we can’t guess about your job from your LinkedIn profile? I’ve maintained lasting friendships with clients I initially connected with more than a decade ago.
What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on? My favorite project is the one where I secured my initial client for Revmo within a mere 70 days of my first day. There was a strong personal connection to this client, as we had collaborated previously. My determination to rekindle this partnership stemmed from my genuine faith in their product. I was confident that our team could elevate it to greater levels of success on the Amazon platform.
Which emerging retail trend are you most excited about this year, and why? I’m excited about the focus on making retail more environmentally friendly and sustainable. It’s great to see more businesses using eco-friendly materials, focusing on responsible manufacturing, and using packaging that doesn’t harm the environment. This trend not only benefits and helps protect the Earth, it gives people the option to buy products that are making a positive impact.
Retail news that keeps industry pros in the know
Retail Brew delivers the latest retail industry news and insights surrounding marketing, DTC, and e-commerce to keep leaders and decision-makers up to date.
What’s your go-to coffee order? I will drink an iced caramel latte all year round, regardless of how cold it might be outside.
Worst piece of advice you’ve received? “Chase the money over choosing a fulfilling job.” I chose a career in business development because I’m driven and motivated by a desire to contribute to the growth and success of businesses I genuinely care about. Building relationships with my clients is not only the central aspect of my work, but also what I value the most, and when these clients succeed, that is truly fulfilling.
What was your favorite retail product when you were 15, and what’s your favorite retail product now? When I was 15, I couldn’t wait to grow my CD collection. Now I’m all about finding the best tinted and lightweight sunscreen that I can wear on a daily basis.
