Spring is sprung. Easter is over. And back to school shopping is still a couple of months away. But don’t let the absence of holidays or major sales seasons fool you. Retailers are staying busy with promotional events, conferences, and earnings reports.

Here’s a sampling of what’s going on in retail this week:

In earnings: Some big-name earnings are dropping this week from a mix of CPG, QSR, and tech giants. First up are Coca-Cola and Starbucks on Tuesday, and then Amazon, Apple, and CVS are following them on Thursday. Between them, plenty of ground should be covered this week, with fresh insights on how tariffs, supply chains, and economic uncertainty are impacting consumer spending and retail operations.

In conferences: The National Retail Federation is hosting its 2025 Employment Law Conference in Nashville on Wednesday and Thursday. The event welcomes legal professionals from the retail industry to discuss and share best practices around emerging trends in litigation and new and upcoming policy changes.

Meanwhile, the Retail Industry Leaders Association is hosting its sustainability-focused Circularity25 conference in Denver on Tuesday. Over a series of 100 sessions, 1,500 professionals will discuss topics ranging from take-back programs to state-level recycling laws.

In promotions: Today marks the start of Walmart+ Week, which runs from now until this Sunday. The promotional event offers a range of deals to new and existing Walmart+ members, such as free Express Delivery, 50 cents off every gallon of fuel at participating Exxon and Mobil stations, and six months free of Paramount+ with Showtime plan. Lately Walmart is generating more and more revenue from the membership program and others like it across its businesses. Membership income increased 16% overall, and Walmart+ membership income grew double digits in Q4.

Today is also the last day of the Amazon Book Sale. The five-day sales event offered a range of deals on books, including up to 80% off thousands of ebooks, up to 65% off hundreds of print books, and under $8 deals on hundreds of audiobooks.
