Hey there, right before the long weekend hits, we thought why not give you a little something to chew on with our weekly weird retail news roundup.

This week, a soda brand came up with a nifty idea for a new condiment: basically, cola-infused ketchup. Don’t ask us the logic behind that one, but perhaps you’d fancy a sprinkle on your hot dog? And a luxury hotel is doing three-course dinners in a literal Icelandic cave that dates back to before the Nordic Vikings settled there.

  • Pepsi has teamed up with Culinary Institute of America Consulting to create a condiment called “Colachup,” which is basically…Pepsi-infused ketchup. Yum!
  • New York-based ice cream chain Van Leeuwen is hiring for a role called “Lead Ice Cream Taster,” who gets to suggest ice cream flavors and yes, eat a lot of ice cream.
  • A luxury hotel in Iceland is offering a dinner experience featuring a three-course menu  inside an old Icelandic cave that dates back to before Nordic Vikings settled in the area.

To our loyal newsletter readers: Apologies but we might have tricked you into believing something we also wish were true but isn’t: We said Panda Express will now deliver its food via a 10-minute drone delivery system no matter where the customer is in the country. OK, who wouldn’t love a 10-minute express drone delivery from Panda Express? But can you imagine the mess if the drone malfunctioned and accidentally dropped a bowl of orange chicken on someone?
